T he Cabinet has finalized the fiscal 2022-23 Budget Bill on Wednesday.

The bill is now ready to be voted on by members of parliament and will most likely top their agenda in the coming week (starting Saturday), IRNA reported.

The Plan and Budget Organization said the next fiscal budget has been drafted regardless of the outcome of talks in Vienna, Austria, where Iran and the world powers party to the 2015 nuclear deal (known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) are negotiating to revive the agreement abandoned by the US during the former presidency of Donald Trump.

According to Jafar Qaderi, the head of Majlis Plan and Budget Commission, next year’s budget relies on the sales of 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, ILNA reported.

As the Persian daily Arman-e Melli reported, the government has focused on income from taxation and sales of public assets to finance a significant part of the budget.
